Short Breaks
The Fisherfields - 19th to 22nd September 2008
These hills far from any road, are often referred to collectively as the Fisherfield Six. They are certainly the most remote of all the Munro's and in poor weather they are largely inaccessible. However, these high tops have some of the finest viewpoints, if not the finest, in all of Scotland and a visit to these summits on a good, clear day is an unforgettable experience. Our plan is to leave early on the Saturday from the Bunkhouse, and ascend Ruadh Stac Mor (918m) and A'Mhaighdean (967m) before an overnight wild camp at Pollan na Muice (525m). An early rise on the Sunday means a long day of climbing the remaining four Munro's of Beinn a'Chlaidheimh (914m), Sgurr Ban (989m), Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair (1019m), Beinn Tarsuinn and finally back to the comfort of our Bunkhouse.
