Tayside's Independent Hillwalking Club

WELCOME

2012 see's taysidetrekkers celebrate our 10th Anniversary.

Founded in October 2002,  taysidetrekkers are based on the principle that no one is too old to walk in the hills.

From humble beginnings, we now have a healthy, diverse Membership, which undertakes twice monthly Walk's all over Scotland and further afield. We also run Navigation Courses, Winter Skills' Day's and Outdoor First Aid Courses.

We also run either weekends or short breaks away - for 2012 these include Torridon, and for our 10th Anniversary, our first Club trip to Wales. Previous trips have seen the Club travel to Eire to complete MacGillicuddy Reeks and the Irish 3000ft's, the Lakes to do English 3000ft's, the Skye Cuillin, and unforgettable Knoydart.

In our ranks, we currently have a Winter ML, a WEMT, a Summer ML and a member of Tayside Mountain Rescue Team. There are another 5 members on the ML Scheme.

Our new Walks Programme can be found in another section, and if you feel that you would like to join us for any of the walks, don’t hesitate to contact us. For 2012, and specifically in our Anniversary year, we are undertaking '10 for 10' Iconic Walks - re-visiting some of our classic Walk's over the past decade.

As a great philosopher once said when coming off a hill –

‘Stop. Look back, and think to yourself, is this the end or just the beginning ?’
