Winter Skill Weeknd - 31st January/1st February 2009

Based around the Ben Lawers range, weather permitting, Saturday is spent practising improvised rope work, belaying etc. Sunday is spent practising safe movement on steep ground - ice axe and crampon work, self arrest, step cutting and avalanche risk assessment. Both days are spent out on the hill maximizing our instructional time.

By the end of the weekend you should be equipped with extra skills enabling you to navigate over winter terrain, and have a knowledge of snow and avalanche conditions. You will have practised moving across snow covered ground using an ice axe and crampons to aid progress and for security.

Price £75.00 per person for Members, Non-Members £120.00 per person, and includes all instruction and transport throughout the weekend.

Crampons and Ice Axes can be hired from Ancrum Outdoor Centre.
